How the uniform contributes to the company’s identity

An efficient strategy for building and strengthening corporate identity must take into account employee uniforms. Whether companies that have direct contact with customers, or organizations that only deal with suppliers, the uniform is essential to convey a consistent image of your business.

To instill a culture of good personal presentation In your company, it is essential to reinforce with employees the importance of taking care of their uniforms. To do this, you can write a uniform usage term in the organization.

Remember, however, that these guidelines do not extend to PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), i.e. helmets, masks, gloves and other safety tools. This equipment has its own specific rules according to the type of risk that each activity involves.

In the case of standardized and personalized uniforms, it is up to the company to defend a consistent policy of use of clothing among its staff. With this in mind, we have come up with a list of guidelines that you can provide to your employees for proper use of the uniform:

·         Indicate which sectors of the company are subject to the use of the uniform.

·        Make it clear which pieces make up the uniform. If there is no supply of shoes, define the acceptable colors and model. This must be instructed in a generic way so as not to characterize a definition. Otherwise, the company must provide the required clothing at no cost.

·         Inform who is responsible for washing the items. Most of the time it is the employee, but the company may want to take on this responsibility. If it is the employee's responsibility, indicate the washing recommendations for each item, warn about the use of bleach, whether the item releases paint, whether it can be put in the dryer, etc.

·         Explain what the penalties will be in case of non-compliance with usage obligations (a sequence of warnings can lead to dismissal for just cause, for example).

Warn that in case of In the event of damage or loss of uniform parts, the amount required for replacement will be deducted from the next payment.

·         Last but not least: make the employee sign a statement that they are aware of the rules.
