Fashion trends in uniforms: how does it work?

When we talk about the importance of companies moving away from traditional uniforms and looking for personalized pieces, we always talk about the need for them to follow fashion trends. However, we noticed that this concept is often not clear and, therefore, we decided to explain how this union is made.

First, it is necessary to clarify that following fashion trends does not mean that your uniforms will look like the conceptual pieces that appear at fashion weeks around the world. This also doesn't mean that we will implement, for example, a low waistband on pants because it is a feature that is being used a lot on the catwalks.

Uniforms are work clothes, they need to be functional, aesthetically pleasing and in accordance with the environment in which they will be used.

Fashion is a broad term that involves the way the garment fits on people's bodies, the colors used, the finishes, fabrics, ways of sewing, prints, patterns, innovations, etc. When we talk about using the trends that emerge in this field, we are trying to observe what is being done in these different aspects and how we can adapt this to professional clothing.

For example, when you arrive at a restaurant you don't expect the waiter to come and serve you in a typical 1950s uniform with a little hat, bow tie, apron and white t-shirt. Restaurant uniforms have adapted to what we find beautiful and wear today, so these professionals are expected to be wearing a suit, a vest, or even a basic t-shirt.

But, in addition to following the pieces used in the sector, it is possible to take other fashion references for waiter uniforms – if the company really wants to differentiate itself. You can opt for slim fit suits, with less traditional colors, micro designs that form textures and a pocket square, resulting in a personalized, contemporary, beautiful uniform that follows the latest fashion trends.
